Abstract: This study examines the optimization of children's psychological well-being through art education in public spaces, specifically focusing on the experience at Yos Sudarso's Car Free Day (CFD) in Palangka Raya. Psychological well-being is essential for children's development, influencing their emotional, cognitive, and social skills. Art
education, particularly when conducted in public spaces, serves as a means of selfexpression, creativity enhancement, and social interaction. This research adopted a prospective comparative study using a systematic review to analyze the impact of public art activities on children's mental health. Findings indicate that participation in art activities at CFD Yos Sudarso significantly enhances children's self-confidence, creativity, and social interaction skills. Public spaces provide a unique, accessible platform for informal education that encourages community engagement. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating art programs into public events to foster a supportive environment for children's psychological development. Recommendations include expanding community participation, thematic art workshops, and integrating interactive and sensory experiences to enhance engagement.
